Annual PACES Dinner & Business Meeting

On Wednesday evening, May 14 in San Francisco, PACES will hold its annual dinner and business meeting in conjunction with the annual HRS meeting. The location will be the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, at 450 Powell Street, on the other side of Market Street from the Convention Center.
On the agenda:
- The Will Webster Prize
- A report on the outcome of the PACES Strategic Planning Summit
- Our guest speaker, Dr. Douglas Packer, from the Mayo Clinic.

Will Webster Prize
Biosense Webster, Inc. has committed to sponsorship of a prize to honor a pediatric arrhythmia related publication form a young investigator. The prize is administered through the Pediatric and Congenital EP Society PACES) and known as the Will Webster Prize in Pediatric Electrophysiology. The prize is presented at the annual PACES evening meeting at HRS.
The Will Webster Prize recognizes an original academic work in the field of pediatric electrophysiology, published and/or presented in the prior year.
Specific Criteria:
- The recipient should be no more that 5 years from finishing training. However, there is no minimum or maximum age criteria. Training dates should be documented in a cover letter.
- Submission of a manuscript addressing any area of the field of Pediatric Electrophysiology, clinical or basic science, which has not been published prior to the last HRS annual meeting. Manuscript can be "in press", submitted for publication, or pre-submission. The manuscript may be associated with an abstract submitted to the HRS meeting, but such submission is not required. Submission for the award should be in a single PDF file, inclusive of all figures.
- Next submission DEADLINE, MARCH 28, 2008
Award:
- $500 to the recipient
- $1250 to the institution to offset the cost of the annual meeting
- Inclusion on a special plaque
- Presentation of the award at the annual PACES meeting at HRS

Will Webster Prize - 2007
As announced at our annual business meeting at HRS in Denver, the winner of this year's Will Webster Prize in Pediatric Electrophysiology is Prince Kannankeril, MD from Vanderbilt.
